Kymberly Alvarado
LCSW
Iām Kymberly Alvarado, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with three decades of experience in the mental and behavioral health field. My passion for helping individuals navigate their challenges drives me every day. I thrive on empowering my clients to achieve their fullest potential and create a lasting positive change in their lives. People pursue counseling and therapy for a variety of reasons. Some may enter therapy to address major life changes, such as divorce or death of a loved one, and others may seek help in managing mental health conditions, like depression feedback. Many people seek counseling because they have identified specific goals or issues that they wish to work on. Others may be encouraged by family, friends, or medical professionals to seek help, and in some cases, a person may be mandated to attend therapy as part of a court ruling or by a parent or guardian (if the person is a minor). Whatever the struggle may be, it takes courage to attend therapy, and it takes dedication to see it through. As a social worker, my role is to be a support and advocate for those seeking help and change, to promote self-actualization, empower self-growth, improve relationships, and reduce emotional suffering.
I intertwine this knowledge with over 30 years of professional counseling experience to individuals, children and families. My style is interactive and collaborative, and I've found that well-timed, compassionate humor can, oftentimes, build the relationship and help alleviate emotional pain. Consistent feedback and validation help the individual feel successful and heard.
